If you are using an iPhone, you may receive jumbled messages due to a feature in your iPhone called iMessages or FaceTime.

You may also be incurring charges related to iMessages and/or FaceTime. You should switch both of these OFF in your settings when using your Global SIM.  

To switch iMessages OFF
Step 1. Go to Settings on your iPhone 
Step 2. Scroll down to 'Messages' 
Step 3. Switch off 'iMessage' at the very top 

To switch FaceTime OFF
Step 1. Go to Settings on your iPhone
Step 2. Scroll down to 'FaceTime'
Step 3. Switch 'FaceTime' off at the very top of the page
If you are already using the correct text message format and the messages are still not going through, please go to your Contacts list and edit the contact manually, changing the number to the full international format by including a +, international code, state code and dropping the first 0. 

This is a standard format around the world and therefore you will not be required to change it again when you return home. Some smartphones will recognise the number you are trying to text and they will reformat the number and send the message from your contacts automatically.

Note: Some smartphones also keep a string of text messages in one single conversation. Please delete this old string of messages and try sending the text message again

Anyone sending you a text message will dial as they would for any international number. 

That means starting with a + and then add the full international number.

As you have been given a full international number, you simply just need to add a + in front of the Lingmo Travel SIM number.

The same format is used for calling and sending texts to the Travel SIM.

Example: So to text the Travel SIM number 44 ### ##### they would send it to +44 ### #####

Use the full international number format starting with + and dropping the first 0.
For example to text the Australian number 0491 570 110 you would enter +61 491 570 110

 Data Roaming

Can't set up mobile data?

Insert the Lingmo Travel SIM into your phone and dial *172# You will receive an SMS - click on the link in the message to install the data profile.

Alternatively, go to your device’s Settings and create an Access Point Name with globaldata entered into the Name and APN fields.

 Calls

Can't make phone calls?

Use the full international number format starting with + Example: To call or SMS the Australian number 0401 555 555, dial +61 401 555 555

If you still experience issues, try the format *61 401 555 555#

Your phone will hang up and then call you back. Answer the call back and you will be connected.

 Network Connection

Can't connect to a network?

Your SIM will auto connect to a supported network. If you experience issues, go into your device’s Settings and manually select a network to connect.

On Apple devices, please go to Settings > Service Provider. You must switch Automatic off to manually select a network.

Settings on Android devices vary, however it is often located under Settings > Mobile Networks > Network Operators

You must enable Data Roaming in your device's Settings to use data overseas
